The Martha's Vineyard Touchdown Club is an organization comprised
of family and friends of Martha's Vineyard Regional High School
Football. As of 1998, we have taken the Jr. High School Football
Program into our organization, and in 2003 we welcomed the Cheerleading
team into the fold. We meet on a year round basis and anyone is
welcome to attend a meeting. These meetings are held the second
Wednesday of the month in the off season and every Wednesday before
a home game during the season in the High School Health Room. We
welcome all interested persons to join the TD Club -- you don't
have to have a child in the program, you don't even have to live
here! You only have to join in as many meetings as you can and help
with ideas, events, organization, and decisions.
Funds
to support the Teams are raised through fundraisers and donations.
Fully 100% of all the funds we raise go directly into the program.
Our motto is: IT'S ALL FOR THE KIDS!
We have a few fundraisers that we do on a yearly basis to help support
the Teams. We have the "Touchdown Tempura" booth at the
Agricultural Fair held every August, our annual Dinner/Auction is
in October and we have a fan booth at all home games, where we sell
our Vineyard Football Fan Gear, which you will also be able to purchase
through this web site. There are many things that we do for the
teams. We host cook-outs for visiting teams, cook dinner every Friday
for players and coaches during the season, cook breakfast before
home games for players, coaches and cheerleaders, host pre and post
season banquets. In addition we purchase jackets for returning lettermen
and end of the season sweatshirts and T-shirts for players, coaches,
and cheerleaders. We have also in the past purchased Super Bowl
Rings, needed equipment, and paid coaches a stipend. We have the
big expense of hiring a Steamship Authority boat every other year
to transport fans to the game on Nantucket. There are usually about
60-70 players on the High School level and about 30 on the Jr. High
School level, 15-20 cheerleaders, and the coaches. Therefore it
is necessary for us to raise enough funds to continue to do all
the above things.
We do all this on a volunteer basis and enjoy supporting the great
sport of football. We hope that after reading this you will join
us and help support Martha's Vineyard Football. We would love to
hear from you and welcome any help and/or suggestions.
